WHAT'S NEW

2014/07/01
YAMAGUCHI Ai is working with a charitable project.

YAMAGUCHI Ai is working with a charitable project launched by the prints studio Edition Works to raise funds for reconstruction efforts in parts of Japan affected by the 3/11 earthquake and tsunami. The project is a print series termed Edition-R (for “Rebirth”), begun in 2012 with the co-operation of artists who voluntarily submit works for sale to raise the funds.

We are delighted to spread awareness of this project, and hope that through YAMAGUCHI Ai's contribution of work the fundraising endeavours may achieve even greater success.

Please see below for details of YAMAGUCHI Ai’s submission:
  • YAMAGUCHI Ai
  • Ashitan
  • Lithograph, 3 plates, 6 colors Edition: 50
Artist’s Statement on the work submitted;
I lived through the time of the tsunami in Japan, and so if this piece I have created forces someone to think again, even just a little bit, I will be happy. I hope that if this work appeals to young children, that this might encourage them to support the adults around them.

※We are also happy to announce that you may register your interest at Mizuma Art Gallery, from where we will direct your inquiry to Edition Works.
