From Saturday 2nd April, Gallery Ohrin (situated within the grounds of Hitachi no Kuni Izumo-Taisha shrine) in co-operation with Mizuma Art Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of the Sakurai Rieko Memorial Exhibition.
A previous participant within a group exhibition at Mizuma Gallery Singapore, Sakurai passed away last year at only 38 years of age. This exhibition came into being through the strong wish of Chief Priest Takahashi of the Hitachi no Kuni Izumo-Taisha shrine to hold a memorial exhibition in Sakurai’s honour.
In this exhibition sketches and drawings as well as works from the artist’s early period and posthumously completed pieces will be shown, offering a devotedly complete remembrance of the life and work of Sakurai Rieko.
