AIDA Makoto’s solo exhibition “GROUND NO PLAN” will take place from Saturday 10th February at a special exhibition venue in Omotesando, Tokyo (Aoyama Crystal Building).
For this exhibition, the Obayashi Foundation has established a grants program targeting contemporary artists, with the aim of researching and considering various questions relating to the notion of the city, or the kind of city in which we would like to live, and proposing various possibilities for the nature of a new city, from a different point of view than that of conventional architectural city planning.
AIDA Makoto has been selected as the first recipient of this grant. In his exhibition he shall explore proposals for “the nature of the ideal city”, through media including paintings, sculpture, film and installation. The exhibition will last for just two weeks, but we warmly invite you not to miss this special opportunity.
